SPRING IN THE TETONS

JUNE 3-7, 2026

Winter’s end has finally come, and as the snow melts from the jagged Teton peaks, the Jackson Hole valley quickly transforms into a sea of greenery and blooming wildflowers. Fresh growth breathes new life into the landscape, creating abundant food sources and making it a perfect time to raise offspring. Wildlife across the valley are calving, hatching, and birthing their young, timed to the bounty brought by warmer days and spring rains. Bear cubs, fox kits, pronghorn fawns, bison, elk, and moose calves, sandhill crane colts… the list of species we might get to see and photograph goes on and on.

The landscape has now reached levels of unmatched beauty. Seemingly endless fields of arrowleaf balsamroot and lupine lead away towards soaring mountain skylines, filling the valley with one of the most vibrant displays of wildflowers found anywhere in the Rocky Mountains.

This renewal of life is what makes spring in Grand Teton National Park so extraordinary, and it’s why this is exactly when we will explore it on this photography tour.

Long hours of daylight means long hours in the field, maximizing our time behind the camera. We will focus on both the dramatic landscapes of the Tetons and the iconic wildlife species that thrive in them, building a wholistic portfolio of images to tell the story of this valley at the height of its abundance. By the end of this workshop, you will not only have a catalog of striking images, but a deeper connection to Jackson Hole and all of its wild inhabitants as well. If you are looking for the definitive spring Rocky Mountain experience, look no further - this is the workshop for you.

Basic Itinerary

Day 1: Your adventure will begin at Jackson Hole Airport, where I will be picking you up for transfer to a hotel just to the south in Jackson, WY. We will enjoy a group dinner and Welcome Orientation this evening, and if time permits, may even make a short trip into the park.

Days 2-4: We will depart Jackson before sunrise and go into the park for a sunrise photography session. Depending on group interest, wildlife activity, and lighting conditions, we will either take a midday break and return to the park in the afternoon, or stay out shooting for the majority of the day. Wildlife will be plentiful, and if the weather is right, active all day, so expect these field days to be long, but very rewarding. In the evening, we will share a sit-down group dinner. Location and timing of dinner will depend on our location (in the park or in Jackson) and current wildlife activity.

Day 5: After a final morning photography session, we will have a group breakfast in Jackson before departing back to the airport for drop-off, leaving with memory cards full of colorful wildflowers, majestic mountain peaks, and plentiful baby animals exploring the lush green valley they were recently born into.

*Guests should plan to bring their own breakfasts/lunches for in the field. Grand Teton’s size and unpredictable wildlife make traditional sit-down meals unlikely. A grocery store in Jackson is available for supplies on Day 1.*
